Cons: Be aware that if you purchase the iPhone 3g for your Straight Talk plan, you may need to update the software to iOS 2 in order to use 3rd party apps from iTunes. The 3g model does not have a front camera or camera flash. Camera resolution is low by today's standards. Still pricey considering this is a 4 year old model.

Recommendation The iPhone 3g presents a good value in terms of price to features as far as used phones go. For the money, you're probably better off going for the iPhone 3gs since it's not much more expensive. Check Straight Talk Sim Availability

This is the best iPhone if your on a budget for the Straight Talk Sim card program. Get an unlocked phone if possible but an AT&T phone will work fine as well but you will need to jailbreak to get MMS to work.

iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 offers significant improvements over the iPhone 3g and 3gs including a faster processor speeds, high screen resolution, better camera, HD video recorder and front facing camera, camera flash. Cons: Very expensive even with used models which run around $300. Even phones with cracked screens go for over $200.

Recommendation While the iPhone 4 is an excellent phone, the price is a sticking issue with us. It's hard to shell out 300 bucks for a used device. That being said, the iPhone 4/4s is much faster especially on newer IOS versions. The 3g/3gs can be real pigs especially on the newer IOS versions that Apple will force down your throat should you require a restore at some point. The camera on the iPhone 4 is vastly superior to the 3g/3gs. Picture quality is right on up there with dedicated Digital Cameras. If these things are important to you, this is the iPhone to get provided you don't mind spending way more cash over the other two phones. Otherwise, most major functionality is pretty much the same across all 4 models.Check Straight Talk Sim Availability

With the new iPhone 5 out, there is a flood of used 4s iPHones out there which has driven prices down a bit. You can pick a used one up for around $350 or so. This is an excellent iPhone for using the Straight Talk sim card if you don't mind paying over $300 for a used phone. The 4s can be had in either Black or White.

iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 offers and all new design over the iPHone 4 and 4s. It has a larger 4" screen and a new Operating system. You also get 4g which will work with Straight Talk provided you have 4g LTE AT&T service in your area. The iPhone 5 isn't going to be cheap though as you will pay over $600 for an unlocked phone which is going to be the only types you will find for some time. You probably won't find any AT&T locked phones for a while because most of those were sold with 2yr contract extensions. You will also have to wait a while until we can confirm that the Tether Me application will work for getting MMS. The iPhone 5 has a new Operating System so it will take a little while for the jailbreak utility to be available.
